IMC International Metal Working Engineering & Production (Dalian) Co., Ltd. is a certified manufacturer of high-quality metal cutting tools and carbide rods used in the automotive, mechanical, and engineering industries. At IMCD, sustainability has become an integral part of the company’s daily operations. The success of our sustainability efforts is driven by our values and our commitment to behavior that benefits our customers, employees, and the environment, while also protecting our eco-industry system for future generations. One of our goals at IMCD is to prevent global warming by reducing all emissions, including CO2 emissions, through energy-saving and conservation activities. Our sustainable development work is ESG-oriented, focusing on energy conservation, recycling, and actions that benefit companies, cities, countries, and the Earth, in accordance with constantly updated compliance standards.

Chemical and other hazardous materials have the potential to cause harmful effects on the ecosystem. To prevent any harm to the environment and any leakage of these hazardous materials, we are committed to stopping and replacing them with environmentally friendly alternatives. Additionally, we strictly adhere to the requirements of hazardous chemicals management for their storage, use, and disposal. Our aim is to avoid pollution of the air, water, and soil. In the process of producing organic waste gas, we utilize activated carbon purification devices to reduce the pollution caused by organic waste gas emissions. Regular testing of air, water, and soil is conducted to ensure that wastewater and waste gas are discharged within regulatory standards and that the soil remains uncontaminated. Environmental awareness training, including exams and emergency situations, is provided to all employees to continuously improve our environmental conservation activities.

IMCD adheres to the International Standard ISO 14001, which specifies the requirements for an environmental management system to enhance eco-friendly performance. The company is committed to this standard in all its production units in order to maintain clean production processes.

The eco-industry, through its environment, health, and safety policy, is set to protect employee health and safety while supporting environmental concerns. It also promotes renewable energy, recycling, and waste reduction. Recycling reduces the need for virgin resources, and using recycled content in manufacturing new products conserves energy. IMCD is committed to continually improving the effectiveness of its environmental management system and environmental quality, as well as pollution prevention. Therefore, the company has introduced a water recycling system and other filtration systems to ensure an eco-industry and a green environment.

IMCD’s eco-industry goal is to achieve sustainable waste management by reducing the consumption of natural resources, reusing materials from nature whenever possible, and minimizing waste generation. Since 2020, IMCD has implemented waste classification management throughout the entire plant, with classification containers placed in each workshop and office. This includes separate containers for recyclables, food waste, hazardous waste, and other waste. We also provide training and assessment on waste classification for employees. Recyclable waste is sent to qualified recycling companies for reuse, while hazardous waste is managed in compliance with laws and regulations, with all waste handed over to qualified suppliers for proper disposal. Furthermore, measures have been taken to reduce the generation of hazardous waste, such as installing cutting fluid purification devices to recycle cutting fluid and reduce emissions, as well as minimizing water usage in the coating process to reduce production wastewater discharge. Food waste undergoes daily monitoring and control by employees across all work shifts, including weekends.

IMCD is committed to maintaining sustainability for the benefit of the environment and future generations. Every opportunity to reduce our impact on the planet is a step towards implementing sustainable development. Additionally, IMCD has obtained full compliance with ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.

Achieving savings is an inherent part of staying competitive, providing clients with more value, being more effective, and achieving operational efficiency. Sustainable manufacturing is cost-effective. At IMCD, the eco-industry tools are always finding measures to reduce costs and increase sustainability. By improving the efficiency of the production process, introducing cost-saving and environmentally friendly equipment, IMCD has successfully lowered energy consumption, reduced daily waste production, decreased manufacturing time, and implemented material reuse. These efforts result in significant cost savings for IMCD and its customers. The company has conducted training on garbage classification to enhance employees’ environmental awareness and knowledge, using pictures and videos to help them understand the origin and proper disposal of waste. IMCD implements full process management for hazardous and household waste, ensuring proper handling and disposal throughout the entire cycle. The company has passed the ISO50001 system certification. We incorporate energy conservation and efficiency enhancement into our system management, set control objectives for key processes and implement monitoring, evaluate completion status annually, and take corresponding measures to improve and enhance. Additionally, continuous improvements are made in smaller environmental aspects, such as posting promotional slogans on hand wiping boxes and using only one piece of paper at a time to maximize resource utilization. On-site garbage classification inspections are conducted at the team level, with a continuous focus on improving recycling activities. The company also carries out electricity-saving activities, ensuring that all workshops and meeting rooms are powered off when not in use.
